18 U.S.C. Sec. 2113(B) Bank Theft is a federal offense that applies to individuals who commit an offense against a bank that involves taking or receiving money, credits, securities, or other property from a bank. This offense is punishable by up to 25 years in prison and/or a fine. There are two types of Bank Theft that are specified in 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2113(B): Bank Robbery and Bank Burglary. Bank Robbery is defined as the use of force, violence, or intimidation to take or attempt to take anything of value from a bank. Bank Burglary is defined as the unlawful entry into a bank with the intent to commit a felony involving taking or receiving money, credits, securities, or other property from the bank.
