Vermont Case Data Divorce Intake (Mediation) is a program offered by the Vermont Judiciary in which couples going through a divorce can receive mediation services to help resolve their disputes before going to court. The program provides a neutral third party to help facilitate communication and negotiation between the parties, and to help reach a mutually beneficial agreement on the terms of the divorce. The program also offers legal representation for both parties and provides an opportunity for the couple to have their case heard in a private setting. There are two types of Vermont Case Data Divorce Intake (Mediation): Family Mediation and Financial Mediation. Family Mediation focuses on issues such as custody, parenting time, division of assets, and other family matters. Financial Mediation focuses on financial issues such as division of property, spousal support, and child support.
