This law makes it illegal to knowingly receive, transport, ship, or distribute any visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Offenders may be fined, imprisoned for up to 10 years, or both. There are two types of violations under this law, receipt and distribution. Receipt involves knowingly receiving, downloading, or possessing child pornography, while distribution involves knowingly sending, transmitting, or advertising child pornography. Both types of conduct are punishable under 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2252A(A)(2)(B).
