The New York Driving School Application for Self-Certification Program is a program designed to help New York State Driver Education Program (NEEDED) approved driving schools gain certification. The program is available to all approved driving schools in New York and provides a streamlined process for the completion of the necessary paperwork and certifications. There are three types of New York Driving School Applications for Self-Certification Programs: Classroom, Behind-the-Wheel, and Online. The Classroom Application is for approved driving schools who are looking to certify their instructors to teach New York State approved driver education curriculum. This application includes an instructor’s manual that outlines the requirements for certified instructors, as well as course outlines and training materials. The Behind-the-Wheel Application is for approved driving schools who are looking to certify their instructors to teach the New York State approved Behind-the-Wheel driver education curriculum. This application includes an instructor’s manual that outlines the requirements for certified instructors, as well as course outlines and training materials. The Online Application is for approved driving schools who are looking to certify their instructors to teach the New York State approved online driver education curriculum.
