A Nevada P-2 Petition to Register a Custody Order is a petition filed in the District Court of Nevada that requests the court to recognize a foreign or out-of-state child custody order. It allows parents to request the court to enforce a custody order that has already been established in another state or country, such as a divorce decree, paternity order, or any other court order determining child custody. There are two types of Nevada P-2 Petition to Register a Custody Order: 1) Non-UCCJEA (Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act) and 2) McCrea. The Non-UCCJEA Nevada P-2 Petition is used to register a custody order from a state or country that is not a signatory of the McCrea, while the McCrea Nevada P-2 Petition is used to register a custody order from a state or country that is a signatory of the McCrea.
