Domestic Violence No Contact Order A Washington Domestic Violence No Contact Order (also known as a DANCE) is a legal order issued by a Washington state court to protect victims of domestic violence from further abuse or contact by their abuser. A DANCE may be issued on a temporary or permanent basis and can include a wide range of restrictions, including prohibiting contact between the abuser and victim, prohibiting the abuser from entering the victim’s home or workplace, and restricting the abuser’s access to firearms. There are two types of Dances in Washington: a No Contact Order (NCO) and a Full No Contact Order (NCO). An NCO restricts contact between the abuser and victim, while an NCO also requires the abuser to stay away from the victim’s home, work, or school, and to not possess firearms.
