AO 291. Application for Fees and Other Expenses Under the Equal Access to Justice Act. (10/81) is a form used to apply for reimbursement of costs incurred in participating in litigation before the federal government. It is used to apply for reimbursement of fees and other expenses related to legal representation, including fees for attorneys, paralegals, experts, and other costs associated with litigation. The Equal Access to Justice Act (EAA) authorizes such reimbursement when the applicant has been successful in the litigation or has substantially prevailed in the action.
