The South Carolina Certificate (of Trial Experience) is a credential issued by the South Carolina Supreme Court to attorneys who have completed a minimum number of jury trials and other court proceedings. The certificate serves as proof that an attorney has the required experience to represent clients in jury trials and other court proceedings. There are two types of South Carolina Certificate (of Trial Experience): Level I and Level II. To qualify for Level I, an attorney must have completed at least five jury trials and ten other court proceedings. To qualify for Level II, an attorney must have completed at least ten jury trials and twenty other court proceedings. Once an attorney has met the requirements for either level, they must submit an application and fee to the South Carolina Supreme Court. Upon approval, the attorney will receive a certificate that is valid for five years.
