Rhode Island Unarmed Bank Robbery, 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2113(a), is a federal crime that occurs when an individual unlawfully and by force or intimidation, takes or attempts to take anything of value from a bank, credit union, or savings and loan institution. The offense, which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, may also include the use of a dangerous weapon, explosive, or threat of death or serious bodily injury.
