New York Complaint (For Employment Discrimination) is a document filed by an individual with the New York State Division of Human Rights (DHR) to make a formal complaint of discrimination in the workplace on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, marital status, military status, creed, or domestic violence victim status. There are two types of New York Complaint (For Employment Discrimination): 1. Precharge Complaint — This type of complaint is used to resolve disputes between individuals and employers before the DHR investigates or makes a determination. 2. Charge of Discrimination — This type of complaint is used to initiate a formal investigation by the DHR into alleged employment discrimination.
