There are two types of New York Article 19-A Oral/Written Examination Results: the TLC Knowledge Test and the TLC Driver Examination. The TLC Knowledge Test is a written test taken on a computer that covers topics such as traffic laws, customer service, and geography. The TLC Driver Examination is an oral exam that tests the applicant's knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle safety, and TLC rules and regulations. Individuals who pass the TLC Knowledge Test and TLC Driver Examination will receive a New York Article 19-A License, which allows them to operate a licensed taxi in New York City.
