The Vermont Bill of Costs is a form used by the Vermont Superior Court to bill the parties involved in a case for costs related to the case. It is used to determine how much each party is responsible for in terms of court costs, attorney fees, expert witness fees, transcript costs, filing fees, and other miscellaneous costs that the court deems necessary. There are three types of Vermont Bills of Costs: party-party, party-attorney, and party-expert. Party-party bills of costs are used to divide the costs between the parties in a case, party-attorney bills of costs are used to divide costs between a party and their attorney, and party-expert bills of costs are used to divide costs between a party and an expert witness they have hired.
