Nevada PROOF of SERVICE (GENERAL) is a form of service of process that is used to notify a party of legal proceedings in the state of Nevada. It is a process where a document is delivered to a party by a process server. The process server must then complete a sworn document known as an Affidavit of Service, or Proof of Service, which attests to the fact that the service has been completed. There are two types of Nevada PROOF of SERVICE (GENERAL): personal service and substituted service. Personal service requires the process server to personally hand the documents to the party in question. Substituted service allows for the documents to be served to someone else at the party’s residence or place of business. The process server must then file the Affidavit of Service or Proof of Service with the court.
