The Kentucky Petition to Vacate and Expunge Juvenile Record is a legal document that allows individuals who were previously convicted of a juvenile offense to have their arrest, charge, and conviction records expunged from public record in the state of Kentucky. This document allows individuals to start fresh without the stigma of a juvenile conviction following them into adulthood. There are two types of Kentucky Petition to Vacate and Expunge Juvenile Record: the Petition to Vacate and Expunge Juvenile Record for Non-Criminal Offenses and the Petition to Vacate and Expunge Juvenile Record for Criminal Offenses. The Petition to Vacate and Expunge Juvenile Record for Non-Criminal Offenses is used for offenses which are not considered criminal offenses, such as truancy or running away. The Petition to Vacate and Expunge Juvenile Record for Criminal Offenses is used for offenses which are considered criminal offenses, such as theft or assault. Both petitions must be filed in the circuit court of the county where the offense occurred.
