An Alaska Request for Deposited Will (RFD) is a form used by a person in the state of Alaska to make a request to the court to deposit a will with the court. The will can then be accessed by authorized persons in the event of the testator's death. There are two types of Alaska Request for Deposited Will: 1) Original Will Request — this is used to deposit an original will with the court. 2) Copy Will Request — this is used to deposit a copy of a will with the court. The RFD form must be signed by the testator, along with two witnesses and a notary public. The form must be filed with the court clerk in the county where the testator resides. Once the form is filed, the will is deposited with the court and remains in effect until a new will is filed or the testator dies.
