Oklahoma Removal of Public Officer is the process by which a law-abiding public officer is removed from office. This process is typically initiated if the officer is found to be in violation of the law or is deemed unfit to serve. There are two main types of Oklahoma Removal of Public Officer: impeachment and removal by the governor. Impeachment is initiated by the House of Representatives and requires a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate. Removal by the governor requires a majority vote in the House of Representatives and a majority vote in the Senate. In either case, the officer is removed from office and can no longer serve in any public capacity.
