For the Office of Admissions to confirm your eligibility to take the California Bar Exam, you must mail an official sealed transcript(s) to the Office of Admissions at 845 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017 once you have completed your LLM studies.

An official transcript is prepared and sent to Cal State LA by the issuing educational institution. If submitting paper/hard copies of official transcripts, the document should be printed on the issuing institution's official paper/letterhead and sealed by the institution in an envelope.

Applicants are encouraged to submit a moral character application at the beginning of the last year of law study or at least eight to 10 months prior to the date they wish to be admitted to practice law in California.

California Reciprocity California doesn't offer reciprocity but offers a shorter bar exam for attorneys who are admitted in other states and who have been in good standing as an attorney in those states for at least four years prior to their application.

Submitting Transcripts 1) If you already have official transcripts on hand, you may scan and upload them directly to the “Academic History” section of the online application. Do not upload unofficial print-outs from student portals. 2) Official hard-copy transcripts can be sent via postal mail or courier to USC.
