Wyoming Fictitious Name Usage is a process in which a business entity can register a fictitious name with the Wyoming Secretary of State in order to conduct business under that name. It is also known as a Doing Business As (DBA) name or assumed name. Fictitious name usage allows a business to operate under a name that is different from its legal entity name without having to form a separate legal entity for the new name. There are two types of Wyoming Fictitious Name Usage: Corporate Fictitious Name Usage and Sole Proprietorship Fictitious Name Usage. Corporate Fictitious Name Usage allows a corporation to register a fictitious name in order to conduct business under that name. Sole Proprietorship Fictitious Name Usage allows an individual to register a fictitious name in order to conduct business under that name.
