Wyoming Fictitious Name Usage, also known as "doing business as," (DBA) is a process used when a business owner wants to operate under a name other than their own. Wyoming requires any business that wants to operate under a different name than its legal name to file a Fictitious Name Statement or DBA. The statement must include the legal name of the business, the fictitious name, the purpose of the business, and the address of the principal office. Wyoming has two types of Fictitious Name Usage: individual and business filings. An individual filing is for sole proprietorship, while a business filing is for corporations and limited liability companies (LCS). Business filings must also include the names and addresses of all members and managers. All filings must be completed and submitted to the Wyoming Secretary of State's office.
