West Virginia Suggested Execution is a legal procedure in which a person who has been convicted or charged with a crime is put to death by lethal injection. This is the method of execution used in the state of West Virginia. There are two types of West Virginia Suggested Execution: voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary execution occurs when a person voluntarily requests that they be put to death. Involuntary execution occurs when the death penalty is imposed by a court or jury. In West Virginia, the death penalty is imposed by a jury after a unanimous verdict from all 12 jurors. The execution process is overseen by the West Virginia Department of Corrections and the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.
