The Washington Residential Care Assessment Tool (CAT) is a comprehensive evaluation tool designed to evaluate the quality of life and care of individuals living in residential care facilities in Washington State. The CAT is a two-part assessment consisting of a face-to-face interview with the resident and an observation of the resident’s environmentThatAT is designed to assess the safety of the environment, the quality of care, and the quality of life of the resident. The CAT evaluates the resident’s physical safety, health and emotional wellbeing, and the quality of life. The CAT also assesses the quality of the staff and facility. There are two versions of the CAT: the Basic version and the Comprehensive version. The Basic version is used for facilities with fewer than 20 residents and the Comprehensive version is used for facilities with more than 20 residents.
