The requirements provide guidance on the appropriate use of fall protection systems, including guardrails, personal fall arrest systems, warning lines, safety nets, travel restraint systems, and positioning device systems. The requirements include the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of fall protection systems; the selection of appropriate anchorage points; and the use of appropriate harnesses, lanyards, and connectors. There are two main types of Washington Fall Hazards: Standing Walls — Highlights of Fall Protection Requirements: general requirements and specific requirements. General requirements include the need for employers to provide a safe workplace, having a competent person for fall protection, ensuring that employees are trained in the use of fall protection equipment, and ensuring that the fall protection system is inspected on a regular basis.
