Washington Application for Loss of Earning Power (LEP) — Vocational is an online application process for workers in Washington State who have suffered an injury or illness that has impacted their ability to earn a living wage. The purpose of the application is to provide workers with financial assistance to help cover expenses associated with returning to work. The application is available for two types of Loss of Earning Power (LEP) — Vocational: Basic and Assistive. Basic LEP covers the cost of retraining, job-seeking assistance, and other services needed to obtain and maintain employment. Assistive LEP covers the cost of assistive technology or devices, training, job-seeking assistance, and other services needed to obtain and maintain employment. Washington's workers can apply for LEP-Vocational through the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) website.
