Washington Stalking No-Contact Order is a court order issued by a judge in Washington state that is designed to protect victims of stalking and harassment from further contact from the perpetrator. It is intended to give victims the legal protection they need to feel safe and secure from the harassment and threats of the stalker. The order may include any combination of the following: an order for the stalker to stay away from the victim, an order for the stalker to stay away from the victim’s home, work, school, or other places the victim frequents, an order for the stalker to have no contact with the victim, an order for the stalker to surrender any firearms to the court, and/or an order for the stalker to attend counseling or other treatment. There are two types of Washington Stalking No-Contact Order: an Ex Parte Order and a Full Order After Hearing. An Ex Parte Order is issued without the stalker being present and is usually granted for a limited time so that the victim can be protected until a full hearing can be held. A Full Order After Hearing includes a full hearing where both parties can present evidence and testimony and is usually issued for a longer period of time.
