Vermont Proof of Claim is a legal form used to formally present a creditor's claim against an estate in the state of Vermont. This form is filed with the court and must be filled out completely and accurately. There are three types of Vermont Proof of Claim: unsecured claim, priority claim, and secured claim. An unsecured claim is a claim for which there is no security, such as a debt or a loan. A priority claim is a claim for which the creditor is entitled to be paid before other creditors, such as a claim for wages, taxes, or a claim for child support. A secured claim is a claim for which the creditor has a lien or security interest in the property of the estate, such as a mortgage or car loan. The Vermont Proof of Claim must provide all the necessary information for the court to determine the validity of the claim and the amount owed.
