Aiding and Abetting: Possessing a Firearm is a criminal offense in which an individual assists another in acquiring or using a firearm with the knowledge that the firearm will be used in a crime. This offense can be committed in two ways, either through actively aiding in the acquisition or use of the firearm or through failing to take reasonable steps to prevent the commission of a crime by another. Depending on the State, the offense may also include the concealment or disposal of a firearm with knowledge that it was used in a crime.
