Texas Change of Address is a process in which Texans can notify the state of Texas of a change of address. This process can be completed online, by mail, or in person. There are two types of Texas Change of Address: Permanent Change of Address and Temporary Change of Address. A Permanent Change of Address is used when a person is moving permanently to a new address, such as when moving to a different city or state. A Temporary Change of Address is used when a person is moving temporarily, such as when traveling or staying with family for a short period of time. Both types of Change of Address require the new address to be provided to the state of Texas, and proof of residency.
