Texas Change of Address is a process used by residents of the state of Texas to notify the post office of a change in their mailing address. It can also be used to update their address with other governmental agencies, such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Texas Comptroller, and the Texas Secretary of State. There are two types of Change of Address in Texas: Permanent Change of Address and Temporary Change of Address. Permanent Change of Address is used when a resident is moving to a new address and wants to have their mail forwarded from their old address to the new address. Temporary Change of Address is used when a resident is away from home for an extended period of time, such as a vacation, and wants to have their mail forwarded to an alternate address.
