The South Carolina Confidential Reference List of Redacted Identifiers (Circuit Court) is a database maintained by the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles that contains information about individuals and businesses that have had their identifying information redacted from public records. The list includes names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and other personal information that are sensitive and must remain confidential. The South Carolina Confidential Reference List of Redacted Identifiers (Circuit Court) is used by the Circuit Court in South Carolina to identify individuals and businesses in court records and documents. The South Carolina Confidential Reference List of Redacted Identifiers (Circuit Court) is divided into two types of lists: 1) the Confidential Reference List (CRL); and 2) the Redacted Identifiers List (OIL). The Confidential Reference List (CRL) contains confidential information that has been redacted from public records, such as names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and other personal information. The Redacted Identifiers List (OIL) contains redacted identifiers such as initials, alias names, and business names that are used to link the redacted information in the Confidential Reference List (CRL) to public records.
