Rhode Island Subpoena-Civil is a document issued by the court to compel a person to appear in court or submit evidence. It is issued for the purpose of gathering information relevant to a civil lawsuit or other civil proceeding. There are two types of Rhode Island Subpoena-Civil: a Subpoena Ducks Cecum, which requires a person to produce documents, and a Subpoena Ad Testificandum, which requires a person to appear in court to testify. Both types of Subpoena-Civil must be served on the person to whom it is directed, and failure to respond to either type of Subpoena-Civil can result in contempt of court charges.
