Oregon Assumed Business Name — New Registration is a process in which a business located in the state of Oregon can register a business name or "Doing Business As" (DBA) name with the Oregon Secretary of State. This process is required when a business wishes to use a name other than the legal name of the business. There are several types of Oregon Assumed Business Name — New Registrations including Sole Proprietor, Corporation, Limited Liability Company (LLC), Partnership, and Limited Partnership. The business is required to submit an Oregon Assumed Business Name — New Registration form, along with a filing fee, to the Oregon Secretary of State. Once approved, the business will receive a Certificate of Assumed Business Name which is valid for five years. Renewals are required after five years.
