A New York Certificate of Change (Foreign Corporation) is an official document filed with the New York State Department of State in order to make certain changes to a foreign corporation's existing business records. Specifically, this document is used to notify the state of changes such as the name of a foreign corporation's registered agent, the address of its principal office, or the name of a foreign corporation. There are three types of New York Certificate of Change (Foreign Corporation): Certificate of Change of Registered Agent or Registered Office, Certificate of Change of Name, and Certificate of Correction. All three must be filed with the New York State Department of State to take effect.
