The Precise is a request to the court asking them to issue a Protection Order on behalf of the petitioner. The Precise includes information about the petitioner and the respondent, as well as the allegations of abuse, harassment or stalking. In Nebraska, there are three types of Protection Orders: Domestic Violence Protection Order, Sexual Assault Protection Order, and Stalking Protection Order. Each type of order requires different evidence to be submitted to the court in order to be granted. The Precise is the initial step in the process of obtaining a protection order and must be filed before a hearing can be held.
