Minnesota Special Term Motion is a motion that is filed in Minnesota state court to request additional time to complete a filing or other legal action. It must be filed in the county where the action is taking place. The motion includes information about why the extra time is needed and what is expected to be accomplished during the additional time. There are three different types of Minnesota Special Term Motion: Motion for Extension of Time, Motion for Continuance, and Motion for Special Setting. A Motion for Extension of Time requests additional time for filing a response to a motion or other paperwork. A Motion for Continuance requests a delay in a hearing or trial. A Motion for Special Setting requests a hearing or trial to be held on a specific date.
