The Maryland Medical Certificate Cessation of Disability (MM CCD) is a form issued by the Maryland Department of Health to certify that an individual's disability has been found to have been medically resolved or improved to the extent that the individual is no longer substantially disabled. The MM CCD is used as evidence that an individual is no longer receiving disability benefits. There are two types of MMC CDs: a temporary cessation and a permanent cessation. The temporary cessation MM CCD is issued when the individual's disability status is expected to improve or resolve within a year. The permanent cessation MM CCD is issued when the individual's disability status is found to have been resolved or improved to the extent that the individual is no longer substantially disabled.
