A Louisiana Bond of Injunction is a legal order issued by a court that requires a party (defendant) to refrain from taking certain action or to perform a certain action. The purpose of an injunction is to prevent irreparable harm to a person or property. There are three types of Louisiana Bonds of Injunction: Temporary Restraining Order, Preliminary Injunction, and Permanent Injunction. A Temporary Restraining Order (TO) is an emergency order issued to prevent irreparable harm from occurring before a hearing can take place. A Preliminary Injunction is a court order that is issued to maintain the status quo of a situation until a full hearing can take place. A Permanent Injunction is a court order that is issued to maintain the status quo of a situation indefinitely.
