The Louisiana Civil Jurisdictional Index (Appendix A) is a document compiled by the Louisiana Supreme Court which outlines the jurisdictional limits of the various civil courts in the state. It lists the various types of civil cases that each court is authorized to hear, as well as the size of the dispute threshold that must be met in order for a case to be heard in that court. The document is divided into three sections: General District Courts, City Courts, and Courts of Appeal. Each section contains specific jurisdictional information for the various types of civil cases, including civil damage suits, contract disputes, and property disputes. The document also outlines the methods of appeal for all the courts in the state. The types of Louisiana Civil Jurisdictional Index (Appendix A) that exist are General District Courts, City Courts, and Courts of Appeal.
