The Idaho Declaration of Exemption is a formal declaration filed with the Idaho State Tax Commission that exempts an individual or business from certain Idaho taxes. This declaration can be used to exempt an individual from income tax withholding, or to exempt an employer from unemployment insurance tax, sales tax, and/or use tax. There are three types of Idaho Declaration of Exemption available: voluntary income tax withholding exemption, unemployment insurance tax exemption, and sales/use tax exemption. The voluntary income tax withholding exemption form is used to exempt an individual from Idaho income tax withholding. The unemployment insurance tax exemption form is used to exempt an employer from paying unemployment insurance taxes. The sales/use tax exemption form is used to exempt an employer from sales and use taxes.
