The California Exemplification Certificate is a document issued by a county court clerk in the state of California. It is used to authenticate and legalize documents and certificates that are submitted to another state or country. It is the official document that is issued by the clerk certifying that a notarized document is a true and accurate copy of the original document. There are two types of California Exemplification Certificates. The first is the Apostle Certificate, which is issued by the Secretary of State. This certificate is used to authenticate documents for use in foreign countries that are members of The Hague Convention. The second is the Certificate of Authentication, which is also issued by the Secretary of State and is used for authenticating documents for use in countries that are not members of The Hague Convention.
