An Alabama Ex Parte Protection Order (On or after January 1, 2016) is a type of legal order that can be requested by a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or harassment. This order is issued by a judge and grants the victim immediate protection from the perpetrator of the crime. An Ex Parte Protection Order is a temporary order that is in effect until a hearing can be held. It is only available in cases where an immediate danger to the victim exists. There are three types of Alabama Ex Parte Protection Orders (On or after January 1, 2016): 1. Domestic Violence Protection Order: This order is issued to protect a victim of domestic violence. It can include a wide range of protective measures such as ordering the perpetrator to stay away from the victim and their home or place of employment, granting temporary custody of any children involved, and ordering the perpetrator to pay temporary child support. 2. Sexual Assault Protection Order: This order is issued to protect a victim of sexual assault. It can include a wide range of protective measures such as ordering the perpetrator to stay away from the victim and their home or place of employment, granting temporary custody of any children involved, and ordering the perpetrator to pay temporary child support. 3. Stalking and Harassment Protection Order: This order is issued to protect a victim of stalking or harassment. It can include a wide range of protective measures such as ordering the perpetrator to stay away from the victim and their home or place of employment, granting temporary custody of any children involved, and ordering the perpetrator to pay temporary child support.
