Change in the names of Individuals :Shareholders are required to send their requests for change of names together with original certificate along with a copy of notification in the Official Gazette or a newspaper or an affidavit drawn on stamp paper of appropriate value duly sworn.
The first step in obtaining a name change is to file an Original Petition for Change of Name. A sample form for the Petition is attached to the end of this pamphlet. The Petition must be filed with the district clerk of the county where the person requesting the name change, known as the Petitioner, resides.
Contact your broker to get the appropriate forms to complete. The process will be simpler if the new owner also has or will have an account with the same broker, because no change in the actual registration of the shares will be necessary. The broker will simply make the transfer on its own internal books.
Share certificates can be amended in the following ways: Change of shareholder name. Change of shareholder contact address. Change of company name.
To change your name on any official certificate in India, first, obtain a notarized affidavit stating the name change. Then, publish the change in at least two newspapers (one local and one national). Finally, submit these documents, along with the original certificate, to the issuing authority for amendment.

If you need to update any details, such as name or address, on your Issuer Sponsored shares, you must do this through the share registry. You can find the contact details of the share registry on your holding statement. Some share registries may also allow you to update your contact details on their website.
