Each Area Agency on Aging provides a different suite of services although there are basic services that are provided by nearly all AAAs. These include: Nutrition – counseling, home delivered meals, and congregate (group) meals. Caregiver Support – respite care and caregiver training / education.

The Montgomery County Office of Aging Services (MCOAS) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring services for county residents age 60 and older. As the area agency on aging, OAS is part of a state and national network of agencies established to aid older adults by offering a wide range of services.
The benefits of physical activity (PA) for older adults have been demonstrated in reduced prevalence of common chronic conditions, improved mental health, decreased cognitive decline, and reduced mortality rates.
AAAs coordinate and offer services that help older adults remain in their homes, if that is their preference, aided by services such as home-delivered meals, homemaker assistance, and whatever else it may take to make independent living a viable option.
Elder Abuse can take many forms including physical abuse; verbal, emotional or psychological abuse; financial abuse and exploitation; sexual abuse; or caregiver neglect.
