The Act requires that posted notices include the date, the hour and the place of the meeting. A description of each subject to be discussed must also be included in the notice. This means that the notice must be enough to alert the public, in general terms, the subjects that will be considered.
As per Section 173 a board meeting can be called by giving notice for a period of less than 7 days provided atleast one independent director is present at the meeting.
(b) A public hearing must provide municipal residents and affected parties an opportunity to be heard. The municipality must publish notice of the time and place of a hearing in a newspaper of general circulation in the municipality on the fourth day before the date of the hearing.
