For example, if a lawyer's legal name is Robert Smith-Barnes, he can't practice as Bob Barnes. Under the rules, members may change their official Bar name only by sending a request to the Supreme Court of Florida and the court must approve all official Bar name changes.
Inquiries raised or complaints presented by or to The Florida Bar under these rules shall be commenced within 6 years from the time the matter giving rise to the inquiry or complaint is discovered or, with due diligence, should have been discovered.
Lawyers who are licensed by the Supreme Court of Florida to practice law in the state must be a member of The Florida Bar.
There is an official amendment form on the Florida Bar Exam webpage that can be notarized and submitted by mail, or you can file amendments directly through the application portal by clicking on “Review Finalized Bar Application.” Pick one method and only submit your amendment one way, either online of by mail/fax.
