Amends the disabled veteran property tax homestead exclusion (GS 105-277.1C) as follows, effective for taxable years beginning on or after July 1, 2024. Increases the amount of the exclusion to the first $100,000 of the appraised value of the veteran's residence (was, the first $45,000 of the appraised value).

The amount granted will be equal to 35% of the Mecklenburg County tax amount on the last available tax bill, rounded to the nearest dollar, not to exceed $648. If you live within the Charlotte City limits or the Town of Davidson, you may qualify for an additional grant.

North Carolina allows property tax exclusions for senior adults and disabled individuals. If you qualify, you may receive an exclusion of either $25,000 or 50% of the taxable value of your residence (whichever is greater).

The State of North Carolina excludes from property taxes a portion of the appraised value of permanent residents owned and occupied by North Carolina residents aged 65 or older or totally and permanently disabled whose 2024 income does not exceed $37,900 annually.
