Wyoming Registration of Trademark or Service Mark is a process through which people and businesses in Wyoming can obtain legal protection for their trademark and service mark. It is a way to give people and businesses the exclusive right to use their mark to identify their goods and services and to distinguish them from the competition. Wyoming Registration of Trademark or Service Mark allows the owner to exclude others from using the same or a confusingly similar mark for the same or similar goods or services. There are two types of Wyoming Registration of Trademark or Service Mark. The first is a federal trademark registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This is a lengthy and expensive process, but it provides the owner with the greatest level of protection and the most nationwide coverage. The second type of Wyoming Registration of Trademark or Service Mark is a state trademark registration with the Wyoming Secretary of State's office. This is a less expensive and more streamlined process, but it provides only protection within the state of Wyoming.
