The Washington Elevator Rule Development Form is a document created by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) to help ensure the safety of the public. It is used to develop and enforce safety codes for elevators and escalators in the state of Washington. The form is divided into three sections: elevator safety rules, escalator safety rules, and forms related to elevator and escalator safety rules. The elevator safety rules section contains the requirements for inspection and maintenance of elevators, as well as safety considerations when installing or modifying elevators. The escalator safety rules section covers requirements for inspection and maintenance of escalators, as well as safety considerations when installing or modifying escalators. The forms related to elevator and escalator safety rules section contains information about the types of applications and forms needed to be filled out when applying for a permit to install or modify an elevator or escalator. There are two types of Washington Elevator Rule Development Form: the Elevator Rule Development Form and the Escalator Rule Development Form. Each form can be accessed online and downloaded for review and completion.
