Description

Affidavit of Experience - Plumbers

The Washington Affidavit of Experience (WAS) — Plumbers is a document issued by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) to verify a journeyman plumber’s experience in the plumbing industry. The WAS is required for plumbers who wish to become licensed in Washington State. There are two types of Was: the Standard WAS and the Limited WAS. The Standard WAS requires at least four years of documented experience in the plumbing trade, while the Limited WAS requires two years of documented experience in the plumbing trade. Both types of Was must be signed by a journeyman plumber who has supervised the applicant's work and include a detailed description of the work performed. The applicant must also provide the L&I with evidence of a completed apprenticeship program. The WAS is reviewed by the L&I to determine if the applicant meets the criteria for a Washington State plumber’s license.
