The Washington Waiver of Preparation of Pre-sentence Investigation and Report — Class A Misdemeanor Information is a waiver form used by the courts in the state of Washington in order to waive the preparation of a pre-sentence investigation and report when a person has been convicted of a Class A Misdemeanor offense. The waiver form must be signed by the defendant and their attorney prior to sentencing in order for the waiver to be in effect. This waiver allows the judge to sentence the defendant without a pre-sentence investigation and report. There are two types of waivers available: a complete waiver and a limited waiver. A complete waiver waives all aspects of the pre-sentence investigation, including the preparation of a written report, and the limited waiver waives only the preparation of the written report.
