Vermont Confidential Notification for Relief From Abuse (VC NRA) is a program that provides civil legal protection to victims of domestic violence in Vermont. VC NRA allows victims to notify their abuser that they are seeking a court order for protection from abuse. VC NRA also provides victims with access to a confidential service to help them obtain a court order for relief from abuse. VC NRA includes three types of court orders: a Relief From Abuse Order (FAO), a Relief From Stalking Order (RFS), and a Mutual No-Contact Order (NCO). The FAO provides protection from physical, sexual, and psychological abuse; the RFS provides protection from stalking and other forms of harassment; and the NCO prohibits contact between the parties. VC NRA also includes legal assistance, counseling, and access to support services.
